Golf instruction can and will help you improve your skills with the understanding that your skills will
only improve if you commit to some minor changes and spend time practicing those changes. I personally
work with the skills each different individual has and make only a few changes that will increase their
playing ability and enjoyment from the game as everyone has different skills and there is no one absolute
way of swinging a golf club that works for everyone.
Changing muscle memory is the key which is why only minor adjustments should be made so you are within your
comfort level mentally as well as physically. Committing to practice time is the best way to accomplish this
as well as being patient and confident. Think of it this way, if someone tried to teach you to physically write
in a completely different way than you do now would you be able to do it immediately without practicing it.
Most likely the answer would be no.
Another key is build from your strengths while working on the weaker areas of your game. Do not try to change
too much too quickly, it takes time and dedication sometimes for you to see the results you desire. Set attainable
goals and then commit to attaining them with proper assistance from a qualified instructor.
